SLC NEGLECT
Mon 3rd. PM. Have just come back from dog walking patrol, and watched in horror as a speeding overtaking boy racer locked his wheels and slid past this on the wrong side of the road. OK you can say, he shouldn't have been speeding or overtaking. Does that justify putting a fecking great metal pole in the middle of a busy road? If you hit that you are going to be dead or badly injured, WHY. If speeding is an issue put a camera there or a flashing speed limit sign. Why create hazards? I am sure we will be hearing about a crash here very soon. Someone told me today that there are only two bobbies available in EK during the night shift. For a town like this with 90,000 odd inhabitants that is shocking, if true. I shall enquire. there was a crash at the end of our road one day, where a speeder hit a wee wifie in her car head on. There was broken legs and some bad cuts etc. The fire brigade arrived first as the woman was trapped, then the ambulance within 20 minutes. We are still waiting to see the police and that was three years ago.
I honestly think that these decisions are taken by bloody minded jobs worths who have nothing better to do than think up ever more ways to make driving more unpleasant and hazardous and expensive than it already is. The traffic Taliban, "get then out of their cars, let the barstewards walk," soon it will only be goverment cars on the road, remember the USSR where the clip board and the state was King. Seems like Putin is taking it back there according to the news.
SLC NEGLECT
Live wires hanging out of a lamp post.
Here is another lamp post in the park with live wires hanging out.
In the above shot we see a footpath that was laid last year alongside West Mains Rd. at the junction with Fairfield. In the distance where the white truck is, they installed a choke point of some kind last week, along side a bus stop, creating a dangerous hazard on a busy road. What is wrong with putting in a bus sized lay by at the bus stop, to protect the bus and the passengers. There was an accident a few years ago in another part of town where a truck hit the rear nearside of the bus, killing a passenger, with crazy road planning like this is it any wonder these things happen.
The point of this picture is to show the cracks in the new footpath where the contractors vehicles were driven during the construction of the hazard last week, so another footpath ruined by laziness and vandalism. Why am I concerned. Last year I paid over £1500 to these people, and will again this year, I have every right to be concerned about shoddy stupid work like this. Manager and Inspectors what the hell do you do all day?
